All reservations must be secured with a debit or credit card. Please note that we will usually take a non-refundable deposit of the first night’s stay on the day of booking. No further monies will be taken from your account until the day of departure, when you can pay the remaining balance. In the event of cancellation, if we can fully re-let your room, then there will be no further costs to you. If we are unable to re-let the room, you would be liable for the portion we are unable to re-let. Therefore, we do strongly recommend that you take out holiday insurance to cover any eventuality of you needing to cancel. The outstanding balance can be paid in the form of cash, debit card or credit card, on departure. All major debit and credit cards are welcome. Please note there is an additional charge of 2% for using credit cards to settle your balance and 3.5% for AmEx Cards.
If one person occupies a room originally booked for two, with no prior arrangement and agreed rate, the full room rate would be payable.
Due to previous damage to our soft furnishings, we must request that guests do not consume take-away meals at Hillsdale. We regret that if you do not comply with our wishes this may result in you being asked to leave and you may incur extra charges to cover damage or loss of business as a result.
As you will know, it is now illegal to smoke in public premises, but please do make use of the front garden for this purpose.
We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Rooms are usually ready for check-in by 1pm. You are, of course, welcome to arrive earlier and we will be pleased to take your bags for safe keeping, but we cannot guarantee that your room will be ready. If you expect to arrive with us after 9.pm we respectfully request that you contact us to arrange for this. Check-out time is by 10.am please, to enable us to collect the sheets for the laundry and to prepare the rooms for new arrivals!
