At Hillsdale in Ambleside, the safety and well-being of our guests is our highest priority.  As we all continue to ‘live’  with the coronavirus COVID-19, we want to make you aware of the measures we have implemented to help safeguard the health and wellbeing of everyone who stays with us.   With this in mind, we have made a few changes to our usual way of doing things. 




At check-in we will respect the social distancing procedures at all times.  We will try to keep things as brief as possible.

Room keys will be sanitised for collection upon arrival.  

Tables in the dining room have been spaced to conform with social distancing guidelines in mind.  There is no self-serve buffet. We prefer to serve everything fresh from the kitchen and to keep you safe but the same selection can be pre-ordered and served to you at your table, in the same way as the cooked option always is.  

70% alcohol hand sanitiser gel is available in Reception and at the Breakfast Room door for you to use as needed and as an added and continuous safeguard.

For guests staying more than one day – we will collect any rubbish from your bin and used towels outside your door and can provide new supplies at your door.  We will not enter your room during your stay, unless you specifically wish us to do so.

We will take contactless payments using the card information received from guests on-line at the time of booking, to ensure safe transactions whilst you are with us.
