There is so much to see and do in Ambleside itself. There is a wealth of specialist shops, a large number of good quality pubs and restaurants including an excellent vegetarian restaurant. There are three cinemas, tennis courts, in season crown green bowling green, pitch & putt, crazy golf, a playground and park, picnic areas and a tourist information centre. Fell views are also available from Ambleside and the breathtaking scenery around Lake Windermere is just a ten minute walk away.

With Ambleside being at the centre of the Lake District National Park, it is an ideal starting point for walking, both high level and easier slopes. For serious walkers there are Scafell, Helvellyn and the Fairfield Horseshoe. Close by are the gentler fells, Loughrigg and Wansfell, as well as many quiet valley and riverside strolls.

There is never a best time to visit the Lake District, as each season has it own special magic with spectacular scenery which you will treasure in your memory forever.

Parking is available for each room.
