Driving directions:
From the South - Leave M6 motorway at Junction 36, turn left onto the A591 & follow this road for approximately 18 miles, until you reach the traffic lights on the outskirts of Ambleside. At the lights, take the left fork and follow this road for approximately 1.5 miles until it becomes a two-lane, one-way street. Remain in the left hand lane and follow the road round to the left and then right. The road then becomes two lanes as you reach the shops, you need to be in the right hand lane. Turn right at the lights at the top of the road and follow this road down for a few hundred yards until you pass the White Lion pub on the left. Take the next turning on your right, which is Church Street and you will find Hillsdale on the right hand side, at the bottom of this street.
From the North - Junction 40, M6 motorway. Follow signs for Keswick, then the B5322 (St. Johns in the Vale) to Thirlmere and Grasmere and then Ambleside. Shortly after entering the heart of Ambleside you will pass the White Lion pub on the left. Take the next turning on your right, which is Church Street and you will find Hillsdale on the right hand side, at the bottom of this street.
By Public transport
Windermere is the closest station (5 miles). At Windermere station you can either take the '555' bus heading towards Keswick, or you can take a taxi through to Hillsdale.
